Presenting The Two Halves, v. 2.0

As some of you might have noticed, at the beginning of June, the Two Halves blog was transitioned from its old URL to its very own independent .com domain! The blog has also been moved from Blogger to WordPress, for which there were a number of compelling reasons, including the highly advanced interface, as well as the universe of plug-ins and customization options available. For those of you who already have your own blog, or getting ready to start one, check out this handy analysis comparing the two most popular blogging platforms! The bottom line is that Blogger is great for those just starting out, but WordPress is what the pros use. Of course, the move wasn’t free, as WordPress requires you to find your own hosting service. But with a little help from my friends, I was lucky enough to get free hosting, and the domain name for a very reasonable price!

I’m betting you will come to appreciate the new, sleeker look of the blog made possible by the eDegree° theme I’ve chosen to implement. One of the biggest reasons why I chose this particular one was the Web 2.0 integration. Not only will my readers now be able to connect with me via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Google Friend Connect at the click of a button, but the theme includes advanced SEO optimization to make it that much easier for people all over the world to find The Two Halves blog by searching for content of interest to them!

Of course, this blog is and will continue to be an experiment in blogging – as always, I welcome your comments or suggestions for improvement. You will notice that I’ve attempted to narrow down the focus of the blog a tad, as the ”global trends” headline suggests, though multiple blogs are still not off the table. Perhaps the biggest improvements you’ll note include the addition of categories, the tag cloud and blog search functionality, so everyone can now find exactly what they are looking for. Also, check out the newly expanded blogroll! Thank you for reading and thanks to all those of you who inspired me to make the change for the better, you know who you are… I hope you will enjoy reading the new and improved Two Halves blog at least half as much as I’ve enjoyed masterminding it!
