Eduardo Camavinga and Reinier Jesus, the two upcoming Real Madrid midfielders have made it to the list of Tuttosport’s 60-player to win the prestigious Golden Boy 2022 Award. This award is organized and handed to the winner every year by the Italian newspaper.
According to Tuttosport’s profile of the French midfielder, Camavinga appears to be the leading candidate for the special award.
“The winner’s international spotlight and trophies are very important, if not critical.” Nobody has done it better than Eduardo Camavinga, a 19-year-old galactico who has won the Champions League, La Liga, the European Supercup, and the Spanish Supercup under coach Carlo Ancelotti,” wrote the Italian newspaper.
Camavinga will most likely be up against Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund or Gravenberch of Bayern Munich for the award. Camavinga did not become a key starter for Real Madrid last season, so some analysts and reporters will argue that he should not be the favourite to win the Golden Boy award.
