According to a report in Diario AS from this past Tuesday, Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz is open to leaving the club and joining another LaLiga team this summer.
Mariano reportedly turned down offers from other clubs in previous seasons so that he could remain in Spain’s capital, but he might consider leaving if presented with the right deal this time around.
It’s no secret that Real Madrid and coach Carlo Ancelotti view Mariano as a replaceable player. The club has made it clear that it would not use him under any circumstances, and getting his nearly €6 million annual salary off the books has been a top priority.
There has been speculation that either Celta Vigo, Getafe, Sevilla, Espanyol, or Rayo are interested in signing Mariano as a striker during the past several months, but it remains unclear whether or not any of these teams are serious about signing the player. Without a transfer price, Madrid will have to let him leave, so they’ll be hoping Mariano accepts a deal before the summer transfer window closes.
