Real Madrid have officially announced the departure of Miguel Gutierrez to Girona.
Miguel Gutierrez has finalised a permanent transfer from Real Madrid to Girona for a reported sum of €5 million, according to Spanish media reports.
Despite making nine appearances for Real Madrid’s senior team, the 21-year-old full-back spent most of his time at the club playing for Castilla.
Zinedine Zidane’s second term at the club was almost a full-time breakthrough for the youngster, who showed glimpses of his potential throughout his time at the club.
All players eventually have to find a team that allows them to play every week, and Girona needed a left back to help their recently promoted team.
Gutierrez is a powerhouse of a player, having the pace and stamina to pound the left side of the pitch for the entirety of a match. Castilla products are known for their high technical abilities, and he doesn’t disappoint.
This weekend, when Zaragoza and Bolivar both come to town for friendly, he could make his debut for his new team.
With Real Madrid, he won the UEFA Youth League in 2019-20 under the guidance of renowned striker Raul and was a part of the Spanish team that won the Under-19 European Championship in 2019.
This is Girona’s sixth signing in this transfer window, with the other additions including New York City FC’s top goalscorer Valentin Castellanos on loan.
