Alejandro Garnacho

Real Madrid interested in Garnacho, United to offer him better contract

According to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are prepared to offer Alejandro Garnacho a new mega-money contract in order to keep him despite interest from top clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid.

The 18-year-current old’s contract expires in the summer of 2025. The Red Devils, on the other hand, have already begun discussions with the Argentine teenager about extending his time at the club.

The Old Trafford club is already expecting ‘elite rivals’ to be interested in signing the youngster. And the Manchester-based club is confident that his value will ‘skyrocket.’

Garnacho joined United in the summer of 2020 from Atletico Madrid. He has mostly played for the Red Devils’ youth teams since then. The youngster won the FA Youth Cup with the U18 team the previous season.

Last season, the Argentine made his first-team debut. In April, he came on as a substitute in the closing moments of a Premier League match against Chelsea, which ended 1-1.

Garnacho initially struggled to find opportunities after the arrival of Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford side’s dugout. He did, however, make his first appearance for the team in the Europa League group stages against Sheriff Tiraspol, which they won 2-0 at home.

A few days later, the Argentine scored his first goal for United in a 1-0 UEL Group E win over Real Sociedad. Ever since, the Dutch manager has steadily increased his confidence in the youngster.

The 18-year-old has so far been crucial for the Red Devils in recent games. First, he assisted twice in a 4-2 Carabao Cup victory over Aston Villa. The winger then scored in stoppage time to give Manchester United a 2-1 victory over Fulham in the league.
