At Real Madrid, Vinicius Jr. was always considered a top prospect. But the Brazilian had a tough time putting it together in his first few seasons wearing the Royal White. Many of his supporters became annoyed since he had all the makings of a great game except for the actual product.
Real Madrid were firm in their belief that Vinicius will continue his playing career at Santiago Bernabeu despite persistent rumors to the opposite. And now they are enjoying the fruits of their labor.
Last year, Vinicius really stepped up his game. After years of struggling to score goals, he finally cracked the code and began regularly putting the ball in the back of the net. During the 2021/22 season, he led Real Madrid in scoring with 22 goals.
The only player to score more goals was Karim Benzema, but the Brazilian also scored the game-winning goal in the Champions League final. It appears, though, that his objectives have grown even more ambitious this time around.
After his breakout year with Real Madrid, Vinicius Jr. sets an extremely lofty goal for himself.
It appears that Vinicius has improved even further this season and will continue to make strides forward. Even though he’s still young (in his early 20s), Real Madrid may have one of the best players in the world on their hands.
According to Marca, Vinicius thinks he can score 30 goals this season.
It’s inspiring to see such drive in a young athlete, especially considering how clearly the Brazilian is bound for the absolute top of the game barring some unexpected turn in his career.
Getting there is the challenge now, but given his current rate of improvement, the Brazilian is well on his way to a 30-goal season.
